Sarah Black

Sarah’s experience in the field of human resources and people management covers a multitude of skills including talent development and learning, recruitment, employee engagement, reward and remuneration. In a business career spanning 18 years, Sarah started her career in HR at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia before joining the telecommunications group Nortel Networks where she was a key member of the Asia Pacific HR team working in Sydney and Bangkok.

A career change in 2006 saw Sarah become a qualified secondary school teacher working at international schools in Thailand and Singapore before she returned to the people sector with the global educational publisher Elsevier as a talent development and resourcing specialist at its Australian-based business. Sarah joined SocietyOne in March 2016 as our HR Advisor and was promoted to Head of People & Culture in August this year.

The holder of a BA (Psychology) from Macquarie University and a Masters of Commerce, Human Resource Management and International Business from UNSW, Sarah has two daughters and enjoys keeping fit, cooking and spending time with family and friends outside of work.
